Tenement Jazz Band are a traditional jazz band formed early in 2018 in Edinburgh.
Brought together by their shared love of New Orleans music, and comprising musicians from various corners of Edinburgh’s vibrant jazz scene, they are on a journey of exploration back to the roots of the music they play.

In their brief existence so far they have preformed at Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Dundee, Islay and Glasgow Jazz Festivals, as well as Belladrum, Eden and Kelburn festivals in Scotland and Fjellrocken Festival in Norway. They have collaborated with various local musicians via their own Cellar Session residency, and performed their own sell out show on the Edinburgh Fringe telling the story of the ‘Red Hot Roots of Jazz’ from turn of the century New Orleans and beyond.
They were nominated for Best Band at the Scottish Awards 2019.
