Keeping Jazz Live in Darlington since 1996

Our Story

Founded in 1996, Darlington New Orleans Jazz Club has been at the heart of the North East's jazz scene for over 25 years. What started as a small gathering of jazz enthusiasts has blossomed into one of the region's most vibrant music communities.

Through the years, we've hosted countless memorable performances, featuring both local talents and internationally acclaimed artists. Our commitment to keeping jazz alive in Darlington has never wavered, even in the face of challenges like the recent pandemic.

After successfully navigating through Covid-19, we've emerged stronger than ever. 2025 promises to be an exciting year with a full programme of events that showcase the very best in traditional and contemporary jazz.

I’ve always enjoyed playing at Darlington New Orleans Jazz Club over many years.

The line-ups have varied from Denise Gordon with Jamie Brownfield and Tom Kincaid to The Mr Men Quartet with Jeff Barnhart, Keith Stephen, and Bruce Rollo.

Happy to start the 2025 season with Alan Barnes and The Tom Kincaid Trio.

Long may the club continue successfully in the future.

Darlington New Orleans Jazz Club is a jewel of the Northeast that sparkles with great ambience, world-class music, a dedicated and welcoming committee, and plenty of parking: all of this for a very modest price! The time always passes too quickly during their Saturday afternoon sessions! We're always honored to perform for this seminal club amongst these wonderful people. Your first time visiting won't be your last!
